Print Seminar Extras

Just some keywords that I decided to take a look at that were mentioned in the print seminar with Lorenzo.

Laser etching
Sonic welding

Laser etching is a process using lasers to engrave or mark an object, usually a computer system is used to drive the movements of the laser hand. It is a complex process but the laser is very precise and produces clean engravings, unlike other techniques it doesn't require any tool bits so there is no need to regularly replace the bit heads.
Some examples of laser etching:

Sonic Welding is an industrial process whereby high- frequency ultrasonic acoustic vibrations are applied to workpieces being held together under pressure to create a solid-state weld. Plastics are commonly used in this process, often the process is used to join dissimilar materials.
